Sally Geen-Brabant

I was born a bag of nerves. As a result, my body lives in a constant state of tension. In regular terms this means I am hard as a rock. But not the good kind of rock. Not the “Man, I look good from being at the gym,” kind of rock. I’m talking “deer frozen in the headlights, stiff and paralyzed” kind of rock. It’s painful. No, really, it hurts. If not my shoulders, then my neck. If not my neck, then my hips. It just goes on and ON. Add to this the fact that I’m not a touchy person. So the idea of going for a massage is not one I’m generally excited about. It takes a very special kind of person to jump the tension barrier in my body/mind and to help me work things out. Sally Geen-Brabant is that special kind of person.

I call her Mistress Thumbs because her thumbs find the source of my ungodly pain. Then they cause even more ungodly pain that somehow, and miraculously, releases the original ungodly pain. I don’t know how she does it, but she does, and I am eternally grateful.

Sally is not the person you go to if you want someone to lightly stroke your back until you fall asleep. She calls herself a “Massotherapist” for a reason. You are going in there to get work done, and it will be done. Thing is, it will be done in such a way that you would swear you were in the hands of an angel. Sally will support your whole self while she spends time with you. You will feel nurtured and cared for and held in the highest regard.

It’s been a year or so since I’ve seen her, thanks to this pandemic, and my body is all the worse for it. More than that, my soul is suffering. I miss you, Sally! 😉
